This garden, entitled "Mother Nature’s Invitation", was designed by Stephen Gower of Garden Development and won a bronze medal in the Small Garden section. The theme was exotic seclusion with the slate forming a natural-looking pathway through bamboos and lush green foliage to create the atmosphere of a tropical hideaway.

Shown are our blue and green slate chippings.

The Gold Medal winning garden at the National Amateur Gardening Show, using a number of Hardy materials including a striking welsh slate monolith.

The garden, designed by Rocky Mountain Garden Centre near Wells, was clearly an outright winner, portraying a relaxing setting that would fit even the smallest of areas. Entitled Water on Stone it used several examples of hard landscaping materials available from Hardy’s, the most popular pieces being the Welsh slate monolith used as the water feature and the sawn slate wine rack.

Celebrity gardeners Charlie Dimmock and Bob Flowerdew complimented Hardy’s on the award, and spent time discussing the materials used.

Months of planning all became worthwhile as Martin Aldred received a cheque on behalf of the company for their share of the £5,000 prize fund.
